Issue 12

FOREWORD

A month after our last issue, there had been a lot happening in the NT youth community. From youth justice law changes that sparked community debate to the Darwin festival that put a spotlight on emerging artists, the Student Spotlight is bringing you the latest headlines.

Working closely with the team across all departments, it is always difficult to gather everything under such a tight deadline. But, as always, we made it to another powerful edition of the Student Spotlight.

This issue involved numerous interviews with students, experts, and individuals with genuine passion. This is everything we stand for – accuracy, fairness, diversity, and balance. Through youth-led, independent journalism, we are keeping regional reporting alive.

This issue of the Student Spotlight is filled with inspiring stories, but also words that make you think. Collecting the voices of young people from around Darwin, the Student Spotlight is committed to bringing people real voices and opinions.

And while the Student Spotlight also faces challenges at times with limited resources and time, we remain undeterred as we strive to produce quality journalism for our young people, while also allowing the older generation to look at the new generation through impactful storytelling and empowering words.
